The District of Wells and surrounding area are policed by a Royal Canadian Mounted Police (RCMP) detachment located in the community of Wells.

There are two full-time RCMP members assigned to the Wells, Barkerville and Bowron Lakes area. Additional RCMP respond from Quesnel when needed. For more information on the RCMP look at their website.
